Blue
Ox School Participates in Popular Winter Showcase!
On
December ninth, Blue Ox students took part in what has become
a major Christmas tradition on the North Coast by decorating
the Blue Ox trolley and riding in the 2006 Trucker's Christmas
Convoy Parade. Blue Ox students spent countless hours cleaning
and decorating the interior and exterior of the trolley, which
has now become a popular attraction in the long-running Christmas
parade. |

Reporting
from the Scene
Ox
teacher Don Hoch was there on the scene reporting on the parade
for 97.7 FM KKDS Blue Ox Youth and Community Radio. The station
took calls all night, reporting on the parade's progress and
directing potential viewers to good vantage points along the
route. As a founding member of the Blue Ox School and a long-time
parade aficionado, Don provided a compassionate and educated
parade's eye view for the people of Humboldt County. |
Happy
Trolleydays!
This
has become a popular tradition for the Blue Ox School for many
reasons. It gives our students yet another chance to be in the
public, making a positive difference in their community. It
spreads a bit of Christmas cheer and brings smiles to many faces.
And of course it allows the Blue Ox trolley a moment of glory
each year and a complete make-over. All in all, it was a very
merry Christmas celebration for all those involved. |
